Complete the following steps and record your data in the table below:

 

 

  1. Collect a wooden, plastic and metal equally sized spoon
  2. Stick a drawing pin to the tip of the spoon using Vaseline
  3. Place all three spoons in boiling water and start the stopclock
  4. When the drawing pin falls of the tip, record the time in the table below

 

 Questions:

1.     Which material did the drawing pin fall off first?

2.    Which material did the drawing pin fall off last?

3.   The best material for a window would conduct heat the least.  Which material should they use? Why?
